Find out more about our latest Open Days here.

We are proud to be a mixed-ability school and believe that welcoming children with a range of abilities and talents makes for a rich and diverse learning community. We do not, therefore, have a formal entrance examination. Instead, we will invite your child along for a taster day (and night if they will be boarding with us) which gives them the chance to experience a full day as a member of FSM.

During the day, your child will do an English and Maths assessment, just to assess their current level and ensure that they will be able to cope with the academic curriculum. Children attending a taster day in our Pre Prep will carry out small in-class assessments with the class teacher.

They will also meet their future classmates, enabling them to begin to make friends even before they officially start at the school. If your child requires additional learning support, we will also set up a special meeting with our SENCo leader to ensure that everything is in place before they start.

Before your child’s taster day, you will need to register them and pay a registration fee. Following a successful taster day and assessment, you will receive an offer of a place from our Registrar Mrs Brown. Once you have returned your signed form of acceptance and deposit your child’s place will be secure.

Here at FSM we are always open and actively encourage you to book a private tour with our Head, Mr Howe. We are happy to arrange these tours during a normal working day, which is an excellent way to see the school in full swing. On these visits you will be given a tour of the facilities, meet some pupils and teachers, and finish with a chat and cup of tea with the Headmaster.

We aim to make the admissions process and your child’s transition to FSM as smooth as possible. We are used to having children coming to us from state primaries and pre-prep schools all over the UK, as well as from overseas schools and a variety of cultures, so we are very experienced in helping children to settle in quickly and happily.

Buses

We offer a subsidised bus service for children who will be attending School on a daily basis.

All our drivers are all DBS checked. Most of the drivers also do the same routes daily, and have other roles within the School, so your child/ren will get to know them well.

Please contact us should you wish to discuss a bus route for your child.

Scholarships and Bursaries

Our Scholarship programme is new for September 2023. The aim of this programme is to recognise and financially reward families of children who demonstrate high levels of talent and commitment in their chosen discipline. Whether that be in the Arts, Music, Drama, Sport or an Academic Scholarship, your child is eligible to apply ahead of Year 7 or Year 9.

Bursaries may also be available to families outside these year groups by discussion with the Headmaster. Please contact Mrs Lauren Brown our Registrar to discuss on 01425 653181 or admissions@fsmschool.com.

You can download our Scholarship programme here.

Refer a Friend

We offer a Refer a Friend opportunity for families at FSM. There will be a £200 credit placed on account for any recommendation where a friend signs up to FSM. Terms and conditions apply.

The incoming family must declare that they are following a personal recommendation from a current FSM family before a taster day takes place. For more information, please contact admissions@fsmschool.com.
