March Projects ready to view!

Year 8 quartz clock designs. The children were given an open brief to design and make a clock that utilised a quartz clock movement

Year 7 manufacturing pod designs. The ‘Pods' are made from foam sheet, which formed using the Plug and Yoke method. The children have to design how the Pod is accessed and what type of opening is used.

Year 5 kitchen spatula designs. The children examined the need for a kitchen spatula to be designed to undertake a range of tasks, such as mixing, stirring, serving, lifting and flipping various food items, as well as having to be used inside a range of pot, pans and bowls. They also had to consider style and ergonomics too.

Year 4 2D mechanical toy project. Having constructed a range of links and levers and realised how different configurations lead to different types of movement being generated; the children had to design a simple toy using one of these mechanisms.

The Year 3 children were asked to design and make a wooden puzzle based on a Tangram. They firstly had to explore a range of different geometric shapes such as, trapeziums, parallelograms, equilateral triangles, scalene triangles, right angled triangles and isosceles triangles, to mention a few of the.
