Performance Opportunities
At FSM we believe all musical performances should be celebrated! There are plenty of opportunities for our young musicians and vocalists to take to the stage and experience the pleasure of playing a well-prepared piece to an audience or judge. Every term, the Director of Music schedules a series of concerts; some are informal in nature, in order for our young musicians to learn the ropes and there are also formal presentations where
Informal Concerts allow first timers to gain confidence as they learn the thrill of taking their applause and closing bow whilst learning from more experienced musicians airing a solo for an audition or examination. Parents are invited to attend and celebrate all our children’s musical milestones.
School Concerts, Music Competitions and Examinations allow pupils to
be scrutinised more thoroughly. Whether in front of an audience, an external adjudicator or an ABRSM or Trinity Guildhall music examiner, the children learn the importance of careful preparation and stylish delivery. Playing under pressure helps to develop specific musical skills and there are platforms each term for our musicians to enjoy performing formally.
