This Friday (09/10/22) saw the first of our Power Up Fridays.
The idea is to give children an intensive subject focus. It can see them participating in Forest School, Art and Music activities.
Focusing on Art, today, Year 4 took part in a workshop drawing on the American Pop Artist Jim Dine.
Jim Dine is an American Pop Artist born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1935. He is currently 81 years old. He is known for his paintings, drawings, sculptures and printmaking.
His artwork was included in an art exhibition in 1962 that was considered one of the first “Pop Art” exhibitions in America. Included in this exhibition were other Pop Artists, such as Andy Warhol.
The Pop Art movement shocked America and the art world and helped shape the nature of modern art.
