Following a technical apprenticeship, Paul’s early career was in Data and Voice Telecommunications holding hands-on technical and then managerial roles at companies such as BT, Nortel Networks, Alcatel Data Networks and Syntegra. Choosing to take voluntary redundancy at the age of 50, Paul then spent 3 years sailing around France, Spain, Portugal and the Azores before returning to the UK and dropping the big anchor in Southampton.
As he was not ready for retirement at 53, Paul turned his passion for DIY into a very successful General Handyman business for the next 13 years. This led on to a position as the Maintenance Manager at a private care home in Ferndown, after which he joined FSM on a casual basis in the summer of 2024 before joining the permanent staff in November 2024.
Paul enjoys a challenge and prides himself on being able to attempt anything and usually succeed in fixing it. Outside of work, his golden retriever “Fred” and Bengal kitten “Barney Rubble” keep him busy along with a growing passion for golf, enjoying his recently acquired motor home and kayaking (with Fred and his partner Helen!!)
