Izzy studied at Exeter University and on qualifying, started her career in a lovely comprehensive school. She left education to become the Director of Children’s Work at a large city church, but, missing the ebb and flow of the academic calendar, she returned to teaching two years later, this time in the private sector. Whilst qualified to teach all three sciences, Izzy especially loves teaching Physics, which has been her main focus for a number of years.

Shortly after her return to education, Izzy became a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Leader and Assessor, and estimates that she has now been involved with over 60 expeditions at Bronze and Silver level. She delights in seeing the enjoyment of the students as they grow and develop a range of different skills, both as individuals and as part of a team.

Outside work, Izzy loves to spend time with her family and friends – and her three cats. She enjoys reading and dabbles in a range of other activities, including painting, sewing and DIY.
