Mrs Howe became a teacher after completing a BSc (Hons) in Physics and a PGCE in Mathematics at St Mary’s College, Twickenham. She has 20+ years of experience teaching secondary Mathematics and has taught in both English and International schools. Throughout these years, she’s taught KS3, GCSE, IGCSE and A-Level, and alongside her teaching roles she’s taken on several positions of responsibility, both within and outside of the Maths department.
She is a passionate advocate of the importance of maths and problem-solving in the real world. One of her favourite things about being a teacher is seeing the progress and growth of her students. She takes pride in being able to make a positive impact on her students’ lives, helping them gain confidence, develop critical thinking skills, and reach their full potential in Maths.
Mrs Howe has dedicated a lot of time over her teaching career to providing students with a range of opportunities beyond the classroom and looks forward to her role at FSM, in which she will support fellow staff in delivering the Duke of Edinburgh Award. She also has a wealth of experience taking students on school trips both within the UK and abroad, including DofE expeditions to Thailand and cultural trips to New York and Europe.
Outside of work, Mrs Howe enjoys baking and going travelling with her husband and their two girls, who both attend FSM.
