Mrs Speers brings over ten years of experience as a science teacher to her new role at FSM, having most recently taught at a large secondary school in Dorset. After completing a BSc in Geology and an MSc in Global Environmental Change, she began her career as a micropalaeontologist in the offshore North Sea before returning to the south coast to pursue her true calling in education.
Over the years, Mrs Speers has taught all three sciences, but she is particularly excited now to focus on the subject she is most passionate about — Chemistry. She aims to inspire curiosity and confidence in her students, fostering a love of learning while supporting every pupil to reach their full potential. In addition to her teaching duties, Mrs Speers will be leading two of the school’s Eco Clubs, a role that reflects her strong commitment to environmental awareness and sustainability.
Outside the classroom, she enjoys travelling, getting outdoors and spending time with her husband, young son, and the family dog.
