In Year One the children have been enjoying activities based around the Traditional Tale of ‘The Gingerbread Man’ Today in Science the children were learning about the properties of materials and their uses. They investigated materials suitable to make a waterproof umbrella for their Gingerbread men. They examined their materials first and made predictions. Then, with their Gingerbread men in a cup, they covered him with the materials one at a time and dropped water onto the surface.
There was a great deal of discussion and huge enthusiasm. It was such a lovely lesson with such great learning that we thought you would like to share in it!
