Chinese Dragon Dance

Reception have been exploring the traditions of Chinese New Year and celebrating the start of the year of the Rabbit in style.

Reception Chinese Dragon Line

The children have been learning about the traditional dragon dance and have been practising their own version of a dragon dance. They have been learning about the significance of the dragon dance in Chinese culture and how it is used to bring luck and good fortune to the people.

Chinese-Themed Role Play

The children have also been exploring Chinese culture through role play. They have been pretending to be Chinese shopkeepers, setting up their own market stalls, choosing their own items to sell and learning how to bargain.

It has been a wonderful opportunity for the children in Reception to learn more about Chinese culture and traditions and to celebrate Chinese New Year with a dragon dance and some Chinese-themed role play.
