Salisbury Museum Trip
From Mr Humphreys
Our Year 3 team headed over to the Salisbury Museum as part of their Humanities topic of ‘Roman Britain’. It was an exciting moment as we were the first school group to visit since their extensive refurbishments. The children asked and answered lots of questions and demonstrated plenty of knowledge and enthusiasm in the archaeology workshop. They handled artefacts that dated back from many years ago, some of which had local links to Fordingbridge and the New Forest. I certainly learnt plenty.
After this, the children used clay to create their own shards before tucking into lunch. Next up was into the impressive Wessex gallery where they were free to wander and also take part in some activities.
My thanks go to Owain and his team at Salisbury Museum who looked after us really well. Thank you to Mr Hosking and our Head of Humanities Mrs Milward too for their time and effort in making it an enjoyable trip.
