Our ‘At Home’ nights are always one of the boarders’ favourite Wicked Wednesdays but whilst chatting to Mr Higgins by the side of the pool last week, he came up with a brilliant plan. ‘Why don’t the boarders host us instead?’ he said, so that’s exactly what they did!
There was huge excitement when the idea was revealed to the boarders on Wednesday lunchtime and lots of ‘oohs and aarghs’ could be heard as the random name generator revealed which staff member each group would be looking after. Like all good guests do, the staff took a bottle with them to their hosts (in this case lemonade) and the evening got underway. For some, it was a relaxing evening with a film, others provided dramatic entertainment including a Murder Mystery sketch. The Year 8 boys taught Miss Corani how to play their favourite computer game before enjoying a little makeover! Meanwhile, the junior boys kept Mrs Rowntree firmly on her toes with table football, bey blades, socially distanced Twister and Hide and Seek! In case you’re wondering about socially distanced Twister, the junior boys very quickly learnt that Mrs Rowntree is possibly the most inflexible person they have ever met so there was no chance of Mrs Rowntree going anywhere near her opponent!
