Mr Bailey joined FSM in September 2025 as its Science Technician, keen to support the ambitious and practical science curriculum on offer to its students. He is especially looking
forward to developing high-quality scientific and technical services in FSM’s new STEAM building — a challenge that suits his enthusiasm for building things from the ground up.

He previously worked at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital as a clinical laboratory scientist and at the Universities of Oxford and Southampton in both research and technical roles,
contributing to studies in cancer and neuropathology.

He later took on part-time work at a local GP practice as a clinical data analyst and digitisation lead to care for his two children before qualifying as a Secondary Chemistry teacher. Outside of work, he is a hapless amateur angler, keen board gamer, and self-confessed polymath.
